Local RCMP to run Mission Restorative Resolutions

Last July's core review recommended MRR be migrated over to RCMP oversight

Mission's restorative justice program will now be under the oversight of Mission RCMP.

Mission Restorative Resolutions has operated under the District of Mission since 2005, and the core review last July recommended the program be "devolved to the non-profit sector," said a municipal press release.

"The program could be utilized more and Richard [Konarski] is in the best position to work with and evaluate the program going forward," said Mayor Ted Adlem of the Mission RCMP inspector, who has experience "in working with social justice and conflict resolution programs like MRR."

The program will now be run out of the Community Policing Office on First Avenue.
