Man dies after hit-and-run in Abbotsford

77-year-old pedestrian dies in hospital after collision on Marshall Road

A man is dead after a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian occurred Tuesday night in central Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Emergency Services were called to the 32600 block of Marshall Road at 8:30 p.m. after a newer-model SUV-type vehicle struck a 77-year-old South Asian man who was walking on the roadway.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital, but he died Wednesday morning.

Abbotsford Police Department (APD) detectives are asking to speak to the witnesses who stopped to render assistance and act as interpreters at the scene.

The APD is also asking for the driver of the vehicle to come forward to speak with investigators.

Police are seeking witnesses, CCTV footage and dashcam footage to help identify the driver and vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
