UPDATE: Surrey man in life-threatening condition after Vancouver crash

A white Mercedes and a white Honda Civic collided

A major Vancouver intersection was closed for nearly 12 hours Wednesday, causing major rush-hour headaches, as investigated an early morning crash.

Police said a white Mercedes SUV going north on Oak Street collided with a white Honda Civic going west on West 49 Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes, a Surrey man, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two women, both in their 20s, were in the Honda and were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call police at 604-717-3012.
