Man injured in home invasion

Three men forced their way into a home Wednesday morning

A 25-year-old Mission man is in stable condition in hospital with serious injuries after being attacked during a home invasion early Wednesday morning.

According to police, three men wearing hoodies and balaclavas forced their way into a residence in the 32300 block of Diamond Avenue around 1 a.m.

The couple inside the house confronted the men. The male resident was assaulted and struck several times on the head with a metal object.

The victim was transported to to hospital with multiple fractures and cuts to his head.

The suspects fled westbound in a silver car, possibly a Mazda.

Police do not believe the incident was random, but noted there was no evidence of criminal activity at the home.
