A man died Monday morning following a two-vehicle collision in the intersection of Campbell and Marion roads on Sumas Prairie in Abbotsford.

The crash took place at about 9:15 a.m., when two trucks – each with a lone male occupant – collided.

A westbound 2016 Ford F-350 ended up in a ditch, and the driver was seriously injured, resulting in an air ambulance being dispatched.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the driver was then pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle – a northbound 2000 GMC Sierra – was not seriously injured.

MacDonald said the crash appears to have been a T-bone collision, but the exact circumstances are still under investigation.

On its Facebook page, the Abbotsford Rugby Football Club identified the deceased driver as Todd Di Guistini, who had been an active member of the club, including as president from 2010 to 2013.

He is also listed online as the Abbotsford vice president of Clayburn Refactories Ltd. on King Road.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or text abbypd (222973).
