An Abbotsford man has been sentenced to a 90-day jail term and a two-year driving ban in relation to a 2017 crash that killed a 33-year-old man.

Savraj Sidhu, 25, was sentenced Dec. 10 in Abbotsford provincial court after previously pleading guilty to dangerous driving causing death.

Two other charges – impaired driving causing death and causing an accident resulting in death – were stayed at sentencing.

The collision took place on Sept. 15, 2017, when a Dodge Charger and a Chevy Cavalier were travelling in opposite directions in the 2400 block of Whatcom Road in Abbotsford and crashed head-on.

Sidhu was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
