A man who was stabbed in Hope on Monday night was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Hope RCMP were called to a home in the 400-block of Park Street at about 8 p.m. on Feb. 5 after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Cpl Mike Rail from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment confirmed that when officers arrived at the address, they found a man with life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital by BC Ambulance.

One person was arrested at the address, Rail confirmed. He added that Hope RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), supported by the Lower Mainland District Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), are currently in the evidence gathering phase of their investigation and believe the incident was not a random act.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Hope RCMP at 604-869-7750 or, should you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
