Man wanted for robberies in Abbotsford and Mission

Jason Bryant is wanted for robberies in Abbotsford and Mission in January of this year.

Arrest warrants have been issued for a man who is wanted for robberies in Abbotsford and Mission earlier this year.

In Abbotsford, Jason Roger Bryant, 45, is wanted for one count of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, two counts of disguising his face with intent to commit an offence, and two counts of using an imitation firearm.

One of the robberies occurred on Jan. 12, when Brant allegedly entered a gas station with his face covered, presented a handgun (later found to be imitation), and demanded cash and cigarettes. He also allegedly stole the gas station employee’s cellphone.

Bryant is also wanted for an attempted robbery in Abbotsford on Jan. 16. Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said that in that incident, Bryant allegedly approached a man who was using an ATM at a bank in the 32400 block of South Fraser Way and demanded cash and the man’s car keys.

The man said he had just finished paying his bills and did not have any cash. Bryant also allegedly opened his jacket and pointed towards a handgun.

Bird said the victim quickly walked away and no futher interaction occurred.

In Mission, Bryant is wanted on charges of robbery, using an imitation firearm and theft over $5,000 for a robbery that occurred on Jan. 6, according to the database.

Bryant has numerous prior convictions for offences such as fraud, theft, break-and-enter, using a stolen credit card, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing stolen mail, being unlawfully at large, and breaching his bail and probation conditions.

He is described as 5’ 10” and weighing 189 pounds. He has blue eyes and balding red hair. Police say he frequents Abbotsford and Mission, has numerous tattoos and walks with a distinct hunched posture.

Anyone with information about Bryant or who knows his whereabouts is asked to call the APD at 911 or 604-859-5225. Bryant should not be approached, police warn.
