Mark Davies has announced that he is seeking re-election to Mission Council in the 2022 Municipal Election.

According to his press release, “Davies has more than two decades of business and technical projects background, which lends a much-needed perspective to Missions Council. “

Throughout his first term as councillor, Davies said he has a proven record of being “open-minded, reasoned, and collaborative with stakeholders to make the best decisions for Mission residents.”

The release goes on to say that “all issues before him are thoroughly researched - reaching out to the people/groups directly involved and always with the intent of establishing the very best outcome at the council table.”

For the past four years, Davies was worked alongside council, the community, staff, and administration. He is proud how the community pulled together during the pandemic not only to support each other but to keep Mission moving forward as a city.

Davies plans to continue the work that has begun and drive Mission toward the future, while honouring its history.

“Council finished key planning projects this term including Silverdale and Mission Waterfront – it is important that we now move to implementation on those plans, with sound infrastructure and financial planning.”

Davies believes some key points for going into the next term are:

• Focus on the increasing needs on our protective services;

• Additional traffic safety & transit improvements;

• Manage growth in conjunction with Mission’s existing small-town feel;

• Park & facility upgrades & new services;

• Enhancing arts & culture leadership;

• Health care & ancillary services advocacy

He welcomes all feedback from the residents of Mission and encourages residents to reach out directly with their issues and concerns.
