Kids of all ages, bring your best costume and your biggest candy bag downtown this Halloween because trick or treating is back in Mission.

Downtown Mission will be bustling with little ghouls and goblins from Railway to 2nd Avenue, from Murray to Grand and everything in between on Oct. 31 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Early birds will have to wait until the clock strikes three.

Downtown businesses are getting ready and stocking up on candy for all of your little ones so bring your kids for some good old-fashioned trick or treating in a safe and fun environment.

Take a photo with your family or friends in front of one of the Mission Downtown Business Association’s Halloween inflatables stationed around the area.

Don’t forget to bring a donation of new socks or gently used or new hats, gloves, and winter scarves to get an entry into a draw for $100 Downtown Dollars, to be used in any participating downtown store.

Event sponsor, Manny Deol of Royal LePage Wheeler Cheam and lifetime Mission resident, says, “Being a part of downtown trick or treating is about having fun, making memories, and building community. Those are all things I incorporate into my business and my life so of course, I wanted to help bring this event back to downtown Mission.”

Once upon a time, Deol was one of Mission’s costumed kids trick or treating along downtown streets so he’s very happy that he can now share this tradition with his own children. Deol will also be accepting donations of “extra” candy at his office on 1st Avenue. before, during, after the event, and throughout the whole year.

A full list of participating downtown businesses will be out shortly on the Mission Downtown Business Association’s website at www.downtownmission.ca.
