The United Nations has proclaimed Dec. 3 to be the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Mayor Randy Hawes made the proclamation in Mission on Monday and district staff will help organize a tea to raise awareness and promote and understanding of disability issues.
The tea will be held at the library on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be information on services available within the district along with refreshments.
The Mission library is located at 33247 Second Ave.
