Mission Community Service Society (MCSS)’s Christmas Bureau is bringing back the in-person shop for participating families for 2021.

The bureau is expecting to make Christmas possible for hundreds of families, seniors and children in need this year, says an Oct. 25 news release.

“Due to the ongoing pandemic, we continue to see an increase of those accessing our Food Centre, and expect that our numbers for both toy registration and Christmas hampers this year will also increase exponentially,” said Michelle Puffer, executive director of MCSS.

“If you are fortunate to have a little extra this year, won’t you consider helping a family who may be struggling? This is how we continue to bring joy, even during difficult times.”

Registration runs from Nov. 8 to Dec. 3, and families will receive their Christmas hampers and toys from Dec. 8 to Dec. 16. To register, head to missioncommunityservices.com.

People looking to help can donate online, or text “give” to 604-359-5620.

Cash, food and unwrapped gift donations can also be dropped off at the Mission Christmas Bureau located at 32555 London Ave. unit 142. It’s open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Nov. 8.

All health and safety guidelines regarding COVID will be enforced.
