Mission RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit executed search warrants on a motorhome and home at the request of an unnamed outside agency on Oct. 20. They are staying quiet about which agency made the request.

On Oct. 18, the Mission RCMP Detachment was asked to assist and check out a house at the 7600 Block of Eider Street, said Cpl. Jason Raaflaub, media officer with the detachment.

Responding officers “based on the totality of circumstances” made the decision to secure the residence, along with a nearby motorhome parked at the 32000 Block of 7th Avenue, Raaflaub said.

He said the search warrants were submitted and issued on Oct. 20.

The Serious Crime Unit and an RCMP forensic identification team were on scene processing the motorhome and house.

“It has been less than 48 hours since police arrived on scene and there are many aspects for investigators to work through in the coming days,” Raaflaub said.

There are no public safety issues at this time, said Raaflaub, adding more details will become available after the search warrants and interviews are conducted.
