Mission RCMP still searching for missing man two years later

Daniel ‘Dan’ Halak was last seen by his family on November 2, 2020. The Mission RCMP is still trying to locate Halak, who was last spotted at his rural residence in Mission.

“It has been a devastating 24 months,” Halak’s son Keith said in a news release. “Dan is still missing, we miss his presence in our lives, our hopes of finding him are holding on by a thread. We plead to anyone that may have seen, heard or know anything about our father Dan Halak’s disappearance to anonymously contact Mission RCMP or Crime Stoppers, with any information that could help us find Dan or give us closure to his disappearance.”

Halak is described as an 84-year-old Caucasian male, standing at five-foot-five and weighing 190 pounds with grey hair, brown eyes and glasses.

According to a RCMP news release, Halak frequents the Delta area but his vehicle was located in Vancouver on November 9, 2020. He has not been seen or heard from for over two years, police say.Mission Serious Crime remains in charge of the ongoing investigation.

“At this point, Investigators are pursuing all avenues, including the potential that Daniel Halak was met by foul play,” Mission Serious Crime says. “Given its sensitive nature, and to ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation, police are unable to release intimate details of the case at this time.”
