Mission RCMP surround local daycare with police tape as investigation begins

There is no danger to the public, say police, daycare spokesperson says all children, staff safe

Mission RCMP have surrounded the Heritage Park Childcare Centre with police tape.

The centre, located at 33649 Prentis Ave. in Mission, also has several police cars on scene.

According to Inspector Annette Fellner, “Mission RCMP has confirmed there is an investigation at the 32000 block of Prentis Avenue. There are no public safety concerns, and no further information will be released at this time.”

Parents could be seen waiting outside the police tape for their children to be escorted out of the centre.

Victim Services is also on scene, but no other information has been released.

A spokesperson for the daycare has confirmed that “all the staff and children from the centre are safe.”
