Mission teachers have joined their colleagues across the province and have not reported for work.
Teachers are standing in front of their schools with signs, and are planning to twice daily gather at Lougheed Highway and Highway 11 to protest.
The job action escalated after stalled negotiations between the B.C. Teachers' Federation and the B.C. Public School Employers' Association.
The strike is slated for three days, so far.
