Due to a high number of staff absences, Hatzic Middle School will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 11. Remote learning will be taking place Friday, and the school will re-open Monday, Feb. 14.

Mission Superintendent Angus Wilson sent a letter to parents late afternoon on Thursday, informing them the number of staff absences is impacting safety and learning and he’s made the decision to close the school for the day.

“I know this will cause considerable challenges for some families and is not a desirable situation for any of us. I apologize for any difficulties this unexpected event places on families,” Wilson said.

Parents or guardians who are essential healthcare workers, or with children with complex care needs, can bring their kid to the school for some limited supervision, Wilson said.

Vice Principal Montgomery or Principal Gabriele should be contacted if parents have any questions. Hatzic students should expect to be contacted by their regular Friday Day 2 teachers tomorrow afternoon.
