Mission's new board of education will be a mix of the new and the old.

Incumbent Jim Taylor led all candidates with 3,532 votes. He'll be joined on the board by newcomers Tracy Loffler (3,371 votes) and Rick McKamey (3,154 votes), along with incumbent Randy Cairns.

Incumbent Shelley Carter won re-election to the school board as the rural area trustee, beating challenger Earl Babich 174 votes to 126.

Incumbent Edie Heinrichs, who chaired the board, failed in her bid for re-election, garnering 2,923 votes. The other unsuccessful candidates were: Scott Young (2,719 votes), Kathleen MacKillop (2,280 votes) and Philip Cooper (979 votes).
