Name of man killed in ATV accident released

Incident near Hope still under investigation by police

BC Coroners Service has confirmed Mission resident Clayton Richard Ellison was killed in an ATV accident Sunday, six kilometres east of the Portia exit on Highway 5.

Ellison, 31, was driving an ATV on a remote gas pipeline road when the vehicle went over an 80-foot embankment and rolled over around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

His 29-year-old brother was a passenger on the ATV, but managed to jump off prior to the accident.

Hope Search and Rescue attended the scene to help recover the body

The incident is currently under investigation by Hope RCMP, with assistance from the Lower Mainland District Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
