BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) has confirmed that it was called out to a home in Abbotsford on Tuesday afternoon for a potential drowning.

BCEHS spokesperson Sarah Morris said the call came in at about 12:15 p.m. from a home in the 1200 block of Columbia Street.

She said several paramedics were dispatched to the scene, including advance-care teams.

Morris said the person was in serious condition and was taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital, from where they were transported by air ambulance to a “higher-level-of-care hospital.”

Initial reports indicate that the individual is a young child, but Morris could not confirm that information.

More details will be released as they become available.
