Crowd braves chilly weather, threat of snow to raise funds for charity

A large crowd of supporters and participants came out for Mission’s Coldest Night of the Year event on Saturday (Feb. 25) night.

The weekend snow waited just long enough for the group to tale part in the annual walk.

The event, hosted by Mission Hope Central and Mission Youth House, is a family-friendly walk that helped raise (according to the website) more than $26,000 for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Mission Mayor Paul Horn, Coun. Jag Gill and Abbotsford-Mission MLA Pam Alexis were among the many people on hand for the fundraiser.
