PHOTOS: Fraser Valley agencies team up for dramatic rescue on Tuesday

CFVSAR, Chilliwack Search and Rescue, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services rescue woman in Abbotsford

A dramatic rescue played out on Tuesday (Jan. 26) afternoon near the Barrowtown Pump Station in east Abbotsford.

Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue Members, along with assistance from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services and Chilliwack Search and Rescue saved a woman who suffered a lower leg injury on the mountain and was unable to make it down.

Tim Skidmore from CFVSAR said the Hope-based Valley Helicopters Ltd. were called in to assist in a Helicopter External Transport System rescue to help with the extraction process for the woman.

She was a contractor working in the area and following the successful extraction she was transported by BC Ambulance to a facility for further care.
