A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday after police seized $300,000 in stolen goods from an Abbotsford property.

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the incident began when patrol officers spotted a stolen flat-deck truck transporting an excavator onto a residential property in the 1200 block of Columbia Street (east of Clearbrook Road and south of King Road).

Bird said police then located additional stolen items on the property, and search warrants were executed.

She said among the items seized were excavating equipment, commercial tractor-trailer units, Bobcats, trailers, jet skis and vehicles.

Also located were Illicit drugs – including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine – and five guns, which were located in a stolen camper-trailer, Bird said.

She said police are continuing to investigate and are working on returning the stolen items to their rightful owners.

No charges have yet been laid, but Bird said more information could be released as the investigation proceeds.
