Power restored to thousands in Mission

Crews believe crow to blame for outage that left more than 16,000 people without power Wednesday morning.

Power restored to thousands in Mission

Power has been restored to thousands of BC Hydro customers who lost their service Wednesday morning.

More than 16,000 people in the eastern Fraser Valley – primarily in Mission and Agassiz, but also in Abbotsford and Chilliwack – lost power.

Lights went dark at 6:45 a.m., but power was restored to the large block of residences just after 8 a.m. A transmission circuit issue has been reported as the problem. Crews believe a crow contacted the equipment and caused the outage.
