PROFILE: Heather Stewart (I), running for council

Heather Stewart, after spending the past six years on council, will be seeking a third term in the next election.

After six years on council, Heather Stewart is seeking a third term. Throughout this time, she has been identified as a champion of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, post-secondary training, and sustainable development.

Heather will continue to support public control of our water resources. She is encouraged by the agency partnerships council has forged, including the Community Health Plan, which will result in Mission’s Campus of Care and Community Health Centre. The UFV/District of Mission partnership will bring a two-year, 60-credit Graphic and Digital Design diploma program to Mission in 2012.

Her extensive volunteerism and experience on council, in addition to being a grandmother of three teenagers, has provided Heather with an appreciation for the unique needs of all age groups. During her campaign she will continue to seek out conversations with many citizens.
