PROFILE: Jenny Stevens, councillor

Incumbent Jenny Stevens brings 12 years of experience on council to seek a fifth term.

Jenny Stevens, mother of six, grandmother of 12, has never allowed blindness to prevent living life to the fullest and while doing so, serve others. Her philosophy is “Be true to your convictions” and “‘Can’t’ means find out how to.”

Jenny was a physiotherapist, managed sales, office services, flying club and boat-yard businesses; taught ESL, communication and physiotherapy techniques, before being elected to council in 1999.

Jenny has always found time for her community. Boards she has served on include UFV, Community Living, Community Services, Lifetime Learning, Heritage Park. She was a founding member of Fraser Valley Humane Society and Business/Professional Women – Mission Club. She is also an awesome fundraiser. Awards recognizing her contributions include 2003 Mission Pathfinder, 2005 Myrtle Evertt Woman of the Year, and 2010 BC Libraries’ Super Trustee.

On council, Jenny has proved her integrity and courage. Her continued presence there will immensely benefit Mission.
