PROFILE: Lee Hanlon, running for council

Lee Hanlon, a former Army reservist and current law student, is running for council.

Originally from Vancouver, I’ve been residing in Mission since January 1989. I’ve served my country for a total of 17 years in the Canadian Forces Army Reserve, and have 10 years experience as a junior non-commissioned officer leader and drill instructor. I’m a recipient of the Canada Decoration, and a recipient of the Certificate of Merit from the Vancouver Police Board. I have a passion for victims’ rights and have been a victims’ rights advocate for the past 11 years.

In my civilian career I am a licensed security professional and Justice Institute-approved BST security training instructor. Recently, I graduated with a bachelor of general studies from UFV and am currently a University of London external law student. My interests include public safety, criminology, and criminal justice issues. My commitment is to serve my community in the same way I served my country. It is time for change.
