PROFILE: Mel Waardenburg, area C

Mel Waardenburg is hoping to win the area C seat in Saturday's election

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself as a candidate for the position of director of electoral area C of the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD).

A realtor operating in the eastern Fraser Valley, I moved to the River Reach subdivision adjacent to Sandpiper Golf Course in the Harrison Mills area.

I am vice-president of the Harrison Mills Regional Association, a newly developed non-profit association formed to address the BC Hydro power outage situation.

Our mandate has been expanded to address any issues of common concern to local area residents.

If elected I would consult with our MPs and MLAs, environmental engineers and the residents of Lake Errock in an attempt to identify a suitable, long-term solution to improve the deteriorating water quality in Lake Errock.
