PROFILE: Nancy Arcand, trustee

Nancy Arcand is executive director of the Mission Arts Council and past chair of the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival.

Nancy has been an active member of the community for 23 years. She is the executive director of the Mission Arts Council, member of the Cultural Resources Commission and Oyama Sister City Committee, secretary for Mission International Cultural Committee, and owner of Little Bear Art.

She is past chair of the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival, past vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and owned and operated Fraser Valley Outdoor Adventures for eight years.

One of her goals is to further the arts-based curriculum into more elementary schools. She will continue to support and grow the initiatives already in place which include the middle schools, the AVID program and seek improvements that see our graduation rates rise and assist in making changes that increase our aboriginal graduation rates. Arcand maintains that we take care of all of our children’s education.
