Rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver and sections of the Fraser Valley.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver and western sections of the Fraser Valley, stating that 50 to 8o mm of rain are expected to fall tonight through Saturday.

Residents are warned to monitor weather conditions during the significant rainfall.

A deepening low pressure system is forecast to track across Southern Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland on Saturday.

The system will bring heavy rain to Metro Vancouver and western sections of the Fraser Valley, including Abbotsford and Mission, beginning late tonight and continuing through Saturday morning.

The rain will ease to scattered showers by Saturday afternoon as the low moves into the interior.
