UPDATE: At 3:58 p.m., Abbotsford Police tweeted that Gladys Avenue had reopened.

Police, ambulance and fire crews are on the scene of a mental-health incident on Gladys Avenue in east Abbotsford.

Sgt. Judy Bird said Abbotsford Police received a report at about 1:45 p.m. today (Wednesday) that a man had climbed on top of a train.

She said police, as of 2:15 p.m., are on scene talking to the man.

“We will get him the help he requires,” Bird said.

Meanwhile, Gladys Avenue is closed between Cyril Street and Serl Road, just east of the Salvation Army.
