The Mission Soapbox Derby was a hit with racers and fans alike on Saturday.

The annual Mission Soapbox Derby is being called a huge success after a huge crowd of fans came out to cheer on the young racers.

There were plenty of great challenges on Saturday as Stave Lake Street was tirned into a race track.

Racers age eight to 14 competed in a variety of categories.

The overall Grand Champion ($500 bursary) and Fastest Mission Racer ($500 bursary) was won by eight-year-old Betty Bradbury (Racer #9, Car #177).

The following is a list of all the winners, by category:

Eight and nine year old category:

1 – Betty Bradbury (Racer 9, Car 177)

2 – Carter Thompson (Racer 19, Car 65)

3 – Dayton Mckellar (Racer 15, Car 11)


Nine and 10 year old category:

1 – Anna Theobald (Racer 52, Car 88)

2 – Beckett Evans (Racer 30, Car 87)

3 – Ali Ahed (Racer 46, Car 57A)


11 to 14 year old category:

1 – Payton Dunnett (Racer 52, Car 88)

2 – Jackson Phillips (Racer 77, Car 600)

3 – Liam Hiles (Racer 27, Car 60)
