A staff member at MSA Manor in Abbotsford has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Fraser Health.

The agency said the individual is currently in self-isolation at their home. A rapid-response team is at the site, and communication with residents and families is underway.

Fraser Heath said enhanced control measures have been put in place at the site and they are working with staff to identify anyone else who might have been exposed.

Fraser Health said staff levels will be maintained to provide resident care.

It said measures it has taken include restricting visitors, restricting the movement of staff and residents, enhancing cleaning and infection-control measures, and screening all staff and residents twice a day.

The agency said it has added dedicated people on site to address quality; answer questions from staff, residents and family; and provide active checks of symptoms with staff and residents.

MSA Manor is a long-term-care facility owned and operated by Maplewood Care Society. The facility previously had one confirmed case of COVID-19 in late April.
