According to the District of Mission’s Facebook page, students will be conducting curbside recycling checks throughout the summer months to ensure the recycle stream remains clean and that the district is meeting the Recycle BC requirements.
The students will also be looking to see if garbage is left out when it is not supposed to be.
“We want to keep our garbage locked up to prevent unwanted wildlife visitors. The students will be hanging door hangers and handing out stickers as reminders to keep our community and the bears safe,” the post reads.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, students will be wearing personal protective equipment to ensure their and the public’s safety.
