Tickets stolen for Mission April cancer fundraiser

A Mission woman is warning residents about inadvertently purchasing stolen tickets to a cancer fundraiser happening next month.Sarah Emerson’s purse was pinched from the Leisure Centre Feb. 13, and along with all her identification and credit cards, 30 pink tickets for the Hollie’s Burger and Brew event April 8 and 9 were taken. The thief has tried to take out credit cards in Emerson’s name, so she’s concerned the person would try to sell the tickets as well. The pink tickets printed for April 8 were stolen and are invalid, however, those of the same colour for April 9 are legitimate. The fundraiser is for a Mission woman recently diagnosed with breast cancer, explained Emerson. If you bought a stolen ticket, your money will be refunded, she said. And if the thief walked into any businesses trying to sell the items and happened to catch the suspect on a camera, please contact the RCMP, Emerson added. The event is sold out, but if you want to donate, or need more information, call Sarah at 604-785-6615.
