Some new faces have been elected to Mission school board.

There were four seats open on the board of education, and five people running.

There was also one position open for rural trustee and, with nobody else coming forward, incumbent Shelley Carter was acclaimed for that spot.

Here’s the final results:

Linda Hamel: 3744

Incumbent Tracy Loffler: 3672

Incumbent Randy Cairns: 3468

Jash Bains:3149

Missing out on election was Ross Lightburn-Renaud with 2500 votes.

In 2018, according to the site Civic Info, the Mission voter turnout was 31.7 per cent, well below the average of 35.6 per cent.

Mission has just over 30,000 eligible voters out of more than 41,000 residents.
