Two businesses robbed at gunpoint

Police have not determined if the two incidents are connected

Masked bandits armed with handguns robbed two Mission businesses this past week, but police have not determined if the incidents are connected.

The first robbery took place at The 14 Avenue Pub Saturday night around 9:30 p.m.

The suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the liquor store and demanded money from the cashier. He obtained a small amount of cash and fled south.

There were three staff members and one patron in the store at the time of the robbery.

The second robbery happened Wednesday evening around 8:30 p.m. at the Mac's convenience store on Seventh Avenue and Stave Lake Street.

The suspect entered the store with the weapon and demanded money. He fled south with a small amount of cash and was last seen on foot on James Street.

The suspect in both cases is described as a skinny Caucasian male wearing a black hoodie and a balaclava.

"Police are investigating the possibility that it is also linked to other incidents in the region," said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright.

Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
