A lengthy drug investigation has concluded with multiple trafficking charges laid against a Mission couple.

In early 2015, The Mission RCMP Street Crimes Unit entered into an investigation relating to a residence on Seventh Ave. which was the subject of numerous complaints from the neighbourhood due to disturbing activities at all hours of the day and night.

The location was reported to be a hub for both drug and property crime activity.

While the investigation was ongoing, the suspects residing at the residence were evicted and moved out of the neighbourhood. During this investigation, four search warrants were executed which yielded evidence to support drug charges.

As a result of this investigation, 49-year-old Christopher Boyes faces 10 charges of trafficking in controlled substance and 53-year-old Cheryl Metzger faces one charge of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of deal with identity document without lawful excuse.

Both Boyes and Metzger were released from custody by a Justice on bail conditions.

“We received a number of complaints from the public about nuisance and illegal activity at this residence which caused us to initiate this investigation” said Sgt. Shaun Wright.

“This investigation was lengthy and ideally we would have liked to have resolved this issue sooner for the residents of that area. We appreciate the patience of the public and want them to know we are working diligently to address their concerns for a safe and livable community.”
