UFV to mark 40th anniversary with events April 2 and 4

Cake cuttings and more held in Mission and Abbotsford

The University of the Fraser Valley is turning 40 in April.

Since opening, it has grown from a college without walls, to a degree-granting university college, to a modern multi-campus university. To recognize the founding of Fraser Valley College in 1974, UFV is hosting a pair of events in Abbotsford. The public is welcome and admission is free to these events.

• April 2: Mission campus at Heritage Park Centre (33700 Prentis Ave.), with UFV president Mark Evered, 11 a.m. to noon. Cake cutting at 11 a.m.

• April 4: Join the UFV Alumni Association to celebrate, and order your 40th anniversary commemorative wine. Event runs from 2 to 4 p.m., with a cake cutting at 3p.m. in the Alumni Hall at the Abbotsford campus (33844 King Rd.), building B.
