One woman is dead and another person has been airlifted to hospital after a motor vehicle accident on Lougheed Highway and Sterling Road in the Deroche area.
The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. when a camper and a car collided head-on.
Police and ambulance services were on scene quickly.
Mission RCMP S/Sgt. Rob Dixon said he could not officially comment on the incident, because it is currently under investigation by Fraser Valley RCMP Traffic Services. However, he did confirm that the deceased was the driver of the car. The driver of the camper is the person who was taken to hospital.
Names will not be released at this time until family members are contacted.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
The highway is currently closed to allow emergency services to respond and for the investigation to be completed. Updates regarding the closure can be found by visiting drivebc.ca.
