RCMP are on scene at Lougheed Highway and 287th Street Tuesday afternoon.

The body of a man found in east Maple Ridge on Tuesday has been identified as 53-year-old Bradley Allan Nielsen.

Ridge Meadows RCMP received a call from B.C. Ambulance Service about a male found deceased in the area of 28800 Lougheed Highway, Maple Ridge around 10 a.m.

"The male victim was found inside a scrap yard at that location, and had suffered injuries consistent with foul play," according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, which has taken conduct of the investigation.

The male victim has been identified and his family has been notified.

Bradley Allan Nielsen, of Maple Ridge, was last been seen alive on Oct. 31, around 6 p.m.

"The motive for Mr. Nielsen’s death is unclear, but from the evidence gathered so far the police believe the act to be targeted."

IHIT continues to work with the Ridge Meadows RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the B.C. Coroner’s Service to gather evidence and move the investigation forward.

One lane on Lougheed Highway remains closed to maintain the security of the crime scene.

The scrap yard is large in size, and it is unknown how long it will take for our investigators to process the scene.

“We need to identify Mr. Nielsen’s associates to establish more background knowledge of Mr. Nielsen, and ask that anyone who knew Mr. Nielsen, or may have information about Mr. Nielsen’s murder to contact police,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster.
