Police seized about 100 marijuana plants from a rural property on Sylvester Road Tuesday.

A report of an explosion on Sylvester Road drew Mission emergency services workers to a rural residence in the 13000-block.

According to Mission RCMP Cpl. Sharon Siluch, four people were seen running from the area, but they were arrested, and a 100-plant marijuana grow operation was found after the property was searched.

The explosion came from the suspects throwing lightbulbs into a fire they had started outside, said Siluch.

The regional emergency response team, Air 1 helicopter, nine RCMP members, along with North Fraser Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

The four alleged suspects are all from the Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam area and face charges of production of a controlled substance, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Court dates are pending.
