UPDATED: Man killed by train in Mission

A 67-year-old Mission man was killed by a freight train Tuesday afternoon at the Nelson Street and Lougheed Highway crossing.

Mission RCMP said the pedestrian, identified as Michael Zamniuk, was hit at approximately 4:15 p.m. by a westbound train. The railway warning lights and crossing guard rail were operational at the time, said Sgt. Miriam Dickson.

Mission Mounties, CP Police and the B.C. Coroner's Service continue to investigate.
