UPDATED: Police seek suspects in home invasion

Two men were assaulted in their own home in Mission

Police are urging the public to secure their homes whether they’re there or not after two men were assaulted in the own home early Saturday morning.

Mission RCMP were called to a residence on Fulmar Street around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The two occupants of the home, both in their 50s, were in the living room when they were surprised by two suspects wearing dark clothing and masks, according to police. The victims were assaulted, but fought back and eventually chased the intruders from their home.

There weren't any significant injuries, said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright.

Police say nothing was taken by the suspects and the attack appears to be targeted.

There was license from Health Canada to grow marijuana at that location previously, said Wright, who added the grow op is not there anymore, and police continue to investigate a motive for the attack.

RCMP located an airsoft gun in the backyard, and are trying to determine if it was used in the incident

The suspects are both described as white males in their early to mid-20s, wearing dark coloured hoodies, dark coloured pants and balaclavas.

Police believe the suspects gained entry into the home through an unlocked door.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-836-7161 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
