VIDEO: Why Wren Street is closed

Storms have caused a significant portion of the road to collapse

A video showing the flooding damage to Wren Street has been uploaded to YouTube.

A long section of one side of the road, close to Tyler Street, collapsed by over a foot and will require extensive repairs, said City of Mission Chief Administrative Officer Mike Younie.

Mission Fire Chief Mark Goddard said last week the road will be closed for the foreseeable future, and geotechnical engineers need to conduct assessments on its slope stability.

The video, which was uploaded on Dec. 2 by the account Xan Xangel, shows two deep cracks running through the middle of the road, which is visibly lower and covered with tarps and sandbags.
