Woman with handgun arrested at Rivendell

A 59-year-old woman was arrested and charged after Rivendell staff saw her walking through a hallway of the second stage housing facility carrying a silver handgun last Thursday.

As Mission Mounties were investigating this call, Abbotsford police also received an anonymous tip there would be a shooting in Mission. Police traced the call to Rivendell and ultimately, in the end, there was no shooting, said Mission RCMP Sgt. Miriam Dickson.

Mounties found the .40-calibre gun in the woman’s room along with a magazine containing 15 rounds.

Shelley Frick was arrested and charged with careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition.
