CITY OF MISSION: PROPERTY TAX SALE

Notice is hereby given that the following properties will be offered for sale by public auction at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, in the Council Chambers at the Mission City Hall, 8645 Stave Lake Street, Mission, B.C. pursuant to Section 645 of the Local Government Act, unless DELINQUENT TAXES PLUS DELINQUENT INTEREST are paid by CASH or BANK DRAFT, by 4:30 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2024.

* Upset price may change due to changes in prescribed interest rates as of Oct 1, 2024.

All properties are Land District New Westminster District 36.

All bidders MUST register the morning of Monday, October 7, 2024 by 9:45 a.m.

The lowest amount for which parcels may be sold is the “Upset Price”.

The higher bidder at or above the upset price shall be declared the purchaser. The purchaser must pay by certified cheque or bank draft. Bidders will be given 2:00 p.m on the same day to secure funds for the balance of the bid price. Upset price to be paid at time of tax sale. Failure to pay this amount will result in the property being offered for sale again at 10:00 a.m. the next business day.

If no bids are received, the City will be declared the purchaser.

The purchaser has no legal rights to the property until one year has expired from the date of the sale.

The owner has one year in which to redeem the property by paying back the upset price plus interest accrued to the date

of redemption.

At redemption, the purchaser is refunded the bid price plus interest accrued from the date of the tax sale. Refunds including any applicable fees will be processed and may take up to 6 weeks.

The City of Mission makes no representation expressed or implied as to the condition or quality of the properties being offered for sale.

Prospective purchasers are urged to make all necessary inquiries to the municipality and other government agencies to determine the existence of any bylaws, restrictions, charges or other conditions which may affect the value or suitability of the property. In the case of strata lots, questions can be directed to the strata corporation.
