Al Giesbrecht late of Abbotsford, BC passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the age of 78. He is survived by his 3 daughters; Sharon (Dale) Stewart, Barb Sweeney and Yvonne Loewen, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Dan (Grace) Giesbrecht, John (Virginia) Giesbrecht and 1 sister, Irene (Ken) Duncalfe. He was predeceased by his wife Selma in 2010. Al was born in Steinbach, Manitoba on September 15, 1935 and came to live in BC in the late 1940's. There he met the love of his life, Selma Klassen and married her on August 17, 1956. Trucking was in his blood. He started out driving a concrete mixer and then went on to long distance hauling with Vedder Transport where he worked for 20 years. He loved the road and went by the CB handle of the Blue Goose. Sadly in 2010 Selma passed away and the last few years were lonely for Al. So now he's gone to be with the love of his life. Blue Goose, over and out.
