Neumann, Alex. Alexander Neumann passed away July 17th, 2011 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 98. He is survived by Freda, his loving wife of 73 years; three children, Ron (Joan), Bill (Evelyn) and Sandra (Bill) as well as his son-in-law Hank (Susan). He is also survived by many grand- children, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his daughter Myrna and his four siblings, John, Jake, Adelina and Ernest. Alex was born in the Ukraine in 1912 and emigrated to Canada in 1926. After graduating from Normal School and Bible School, he taught public school and bible school for a number of years before commencing farming in southern Alberta in 1942. He farmed until 1964 when he semi- retired and became a real estate investor and developer in Lethbridge. Alex was also an ordained minister. In 1982, he and his wife retired to Abbotsford BC. Viewing will be held from 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday, July 22 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. Funeral services will be held at Bakerview Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, on July 23rd at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
