On Thursday May 26th we lost a dear father, grandfather, and friend. Allan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Vicki Ann (Morris) and is survived by his daughters Lindsey and Shelley (Gordon), and his sons Cary (Hannah) and Robby (Janis), and his grandchildren Riley, Peyton and Hazel, and his sister Lynn Young. Having been raised in Edmonton Alberta by his parents, Albert and Norma, as a young adult Allan served a faithful two-year voluntary mission to England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following his mission, Allan studied and received a business degree from Brigham Young University where he met and married his sweetheart Vicki. Allan began his career in banking and finance in British Columbia which continued until his retirement. Allan's greatest joy was his family. He cherished his dear wife, Vicki, and deeply loved his sons and daughters, and grandchildren. Allan had many close friends who shared his passion for music and sports. His musical talents included violin, guitar and a soulful singing voice. Allan played football as a young man, and became a competitive golfer and racquetball player. He also loved to fish, even tying his own flies. Allan's tender kindness and sense of humor defined his relationship with everyone he knew. He was a great friend. Allan loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and carried with him a quiet and tender testimony of sacred things. He understood who he was and the purpose of his life, and held firmly to a hope of eternal joys to come.
Allan's life will be celebrated at a memorial service to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 30635 Blueridge Drive Abbotsford at 2:00PM on Tuesday June 7th.
